- I love having good coffee, listening to music and programming or reading in coffee shops. As a post-pandemic endeavour I'm trying out as many new coffee shops in New York as I can, with at least one every weekend.
- The advantage of living in New York is that you don't ever run out of great coffee shops: one of the reasons I still find myself fascinated by this city, after several years living here.
- Places, in no particular order:
- Ground Central, 7th Avenue & 37th Street:
- Lovely caffe with good, easily accessible wifi and reasonable seats
- Not so good coffee, but a very friendly barista
- Standard coffee fare otherwise, with some snacks
- Marathon Coffee, Chelsea - 6th Avenue & 26th Street
- Nice, small cafe with no seating
- Decent coffee
- Zibetto Espresso Bar, 6th Avenue & 48th Street
- Delicious Macchiato, well made and tasty beans
- Good snacks, also has paninis
- Good seating (didn't check wifi yet)
- Stumptown, Ace Hotel, 5th Avenue & 29th Street
- Very well made coffees, perfectly foamed
- Good seating and wifi in Ace Hotel
- Often has empanadas and tacos as snacks
